streszczenie A series of tests were conducted to study the influence of moisture content of rapeseed on the physical properties of grain bedding. The load response of a grain assembly poured into a cubical test chamber and subjected to uniaxial confined compression was studied. Tests were conducted for the rapeseed of moisture contents of 7.5, 9, and 12%. It was determined that the load distribution varied considerably with the moisture content of the seeds. The lowest effective elastic modulus was obtained for a grain assembly composed of rapeseeds at moisture content of 12%. Comparison between experimental data and numerical modeling using the discrete element method (DEM) showed both, quantitative and qualitative agreement.
