streszczenie The present study undertakes evaluation of the influence of dimensional and resistance characteristics of barley kernels on the energy consumption during grinding. Resistance characteristics of barley kernels was determined using the uniaxial compression test carried out on an universal Instron tester. Studies on the grinding process were conducted with the use of a hammer mill. Study results were presented in the form of regression equations.
