abstract The postharvest physical and mechanical properties of nuts and kernels of 12 common hazelnut genotypes sampled from a single collection were investigated. Considerable differences in most physical and mechanical properties were evident among the 12 hazelnut cultivars nut and kernel within the species Corylus avellana L.
