abstract Changes in water retention caused by an addition of a soil conditioner (Solacrol), stabilizing soil aggregates, are presented in the paper. The investigations were carried out on two soils, i.e., Eutric Cambisol and Gleyic Phaeozem. Stabilization of different aggregate fractions with a soil conditioner was found to cause changes in the course of water retention curves, increasing or decreasing the amount of water bound by different forces. It was stated that the maximum changes in the amount of water did not exceed 16%.
