abstract In this paper, the results of studies on energy consumption in the process of grain seeds drying are presented. Tarushkin's hypothesis forms the basis of these studies according to which positive and negative tensile stresses that arise in an electrostatic field produce micro changes in grain structure. These changes may manifest themselves in reducing the capability to keep the moisture and thereby reducing the energy consumption in the process of conventional drying.
